A day after the Uttarpara incident, Trinamool Congress MLA Kunal Ghosh has alleged that his car was attacked again in Kolkata’s Beleghata. Ghosh said several motorcyclists followed his vehicle and that it was stopped near an event venue. He alleged that attempts were made to smash the car’s windows with a hammer and that people carrying a revolver were involved. He later reached Narkeldanga police station.

According to Ghosh, the latest incident took place on September 27 while he was travelling to inspect a development-work site in Ward 34 of Beleghata. He alleged that his vehicle was followed and later stopped near an event venue. After reaching the police station, he also claimed that he had received information about people allegedly standing outside with bombs and firearms. These claims have not been independently established.

The latest allegation follows an incident on September 26 in Uttarpara’s Sakherbazar area, where Ghosh’s vehicle was stopped while he was travelling to Serampore to attend a public meeting addressed by Mamata Banerjee. Multiple reports said eggs, bricks and stones were thrown at the vehicle and its glass was damaged. Political parties traded allegations over responsibility, while police began an investigation.

For the September 27 Beleghata incident, Ghosh has again alleged political involvement by the BJP. BJP representatives have denied the allegation. The identities and responsibility of those involved in the latest incident have not been conclusively established.
