Calcutta High Court Directs Kolkata Police Commissioner to Ensure Kunal Ghosh’s Security

The Calcutta High Court has directed the Kolkata Police Commissioner to ensure the security of Trinamool Congress MLA Kunal Ghosh, according to a report by News18 Bangla.
Ghosh had approached the High Court seeking protection after alleging that his vehicle was attacked on two consecutive days in late September. He claimed that groups of people targeted his car in Uttarpara and later in Kolkata, and that he feared for his safety.
Reports said the incidents included damage to his vehicle and threats. The allegations against the attackers and any claimed political links remain allegations; the BJP has denied responsibility in earlier reporting.
The court’s direction places the responsibility on the Kolkata Police Commissioner to ensure Ghosh’s security. The matter comes amid an ongoing police investigation into the reported attacks.
