YouTuber Dhruv Rathee Detained in Gurugram Ahead of CJP Protest

YouTuber Dhruv Rathee was reportedly detained from his residence in Sector 56, Gurugram, on the morning of October 10, ahead of a planned protest by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar.
The protest was called to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over allegations of “vote theft” and concerns about electoral roll revisions. Police had denied permission for the proposed demonstration, according to media reports.
ABP Live reported that Rathee was detained before he could join the protest. Other reports said police personnel arrived at his residence in the morning. The precise legal grounds for the detention were not immediately clear in the reports reviewed.
The development comes amid heightened security in Delhi ahead of the proposed gathering. The reported detention has drawn attention to the police response to the planned protest and the wider debate over electoral transparency.
