Indications of Major Action Over Demolition of the Room Next to the Seminar Room at RG Kar Hospital!

If the order to demolish the room in question was issued by the Health Secretary, he will be removed from his post if the allegations are found to be true. Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari gave this indication.

On Friday, the Chief Minister made it clear that if Health Secretary Narayan Swaroop Nigam had issued the order to demolish the room, he would be removed from his post.

It may be recalled that, from the stage of the ninth ‘Medivision National Convention’, organised at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, RG Kar victim’s mother and Panihati MLA Ratna Debnath directly raised her voice against Health Secretary Narayan Swaroop Nigam, accusing him of destroying evidence and corruption.

Immediately after hearing these allegations on the public stage, the Chief Minister assured that prompt action would be taken.

He clearly stated that if the allegations were found to be true after an investigation, Health Secretary Narayan Swaroop Nigam would be removed from his post.

On this day, Ratna Debnath strongly criticised the role of the Health Department and the then Health Secretary, raising the question: “The seminar room where my daughter was brutally murdered, along with the adjoining bathroom, was demolished and renovated overnight after the incident. On whose instructions was this done? How is the Health Secretary, who was behind this order, still comfortably occupying his post? If such people continue to remain in office, what justice can ordinary people expect? Only when my daughter receives proper justice will the Health Department be freed from corruption.”

Following this, the Chief Minister announced that if the allegations were proven true, the Health Secretary would be removed from his post.
