Dino Morea Arrested in Mithi River Desilting Case After 8-Hour Questioning
Bollywood actor Dino Morea has been reported arrested in connection with the alleged financial irregularities in Mumbai's Mithi River desilting project. Anandabazar reported that the Mumbai Police Economic Offences Wing (EOW) took him into custody on October 2 after questioning him.
According to the report, Morea was questioned for around eight hours at his Bandra residence before the reported arrest. Investigators are examining alleged irregularities that may have caused a loss of around ₹65.54 crore to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.
The probe is examining contracts related to the desilting project, including alleged financial transactions involving people connected to the case. Investigators have also examined links involving Morea's brother Santino Rocco Morea and a private company connected to the probe.
There is conflicting reporting over the arrest status. One report said Morea denied that he had been arrested, while EOW had not publicly confirmed or denied the arrest at the time of that report. The allegations remain under investigation and Morea has not been convicted of any offence.
