50% Discount on Maida, Sugar and Semolina in Ration! Chief Minister’s Puja Gift to 8 Crore Bengalis

Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari made a big announcement at a press conference at Nabanna ahead of Puja. The Chief Minister said that the state government has decided to provide maida, sugar and semolina to two crore families at half the price. The Chief Minister also said that 8 crore beneficiaries will benefit through the rationing system.

At the press conference, he further said that the previous government used to provide 1 kg of sugar to 50 lakh families at a 20% discount. The current government will provide 1 kg of maida, 1 kg of sugar and 500 grams of semolina to 8 crore beneficiaries at a 50% discount. For this gift, the state government has allocated an additional Rs 150 crore to the Food Department.

The Chief Minister also said that the tender has already been passed.
