The Calcutta High Court has directed Prashanta Barman to surrender within 48 hours and ordered an immediate stoppage of his salary.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Rabindra V. Ghuge and Justice Om Narayan Rai said that if Barman does not surrender within the stipulated 48 hours, his properties must be listed. The court may then order attachment or seizure of his properties.
The order could lead to further financial and property-related action against Barman if he does not comply with the court's direction within the deadline.
