NIA Searches 16 Locations Across Assam, Bengal and Kerala in Cross-Border Terror Conspiracy Probe
According to an Ei Samay report, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday conducted searches at 16 locations across Assam, West Bengal and Kerala. The operation covered 10 locations in Assam, five in West Bengal and one in Kerala.
The searches are linked to an investigation into an alleged cross-border terror conspiracy and radicalisation network. Investigators are examining the activities and suspected cross-border links of individuals allegedly connected with the Imam Mahmuder Kafila (IMK) network.
Officials have described IMK as an offshoot of the banned Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB). The searches are aimed at collecting evidence related to alleged radicalisation activities and suspected cross-border links.
Details about specific premises searched, people questioned or materials recovered had not been made public at the time of the reports. Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
